Preparation Method

Making Kiri Kos

  • Begin by heating water and soaking the dried jackfruit in it for 30-45 minutes. Once rehydrated, gently squeeze out the excess water from the jackfruit. Then, add onion, garlic, green chili, turmeric powder, curry powder, fenugreek powder, mustard powder, salt, curry leaves, pandan leaves, cinnamon, and the second extraction of coconut milk to the jackfruit. Mix everything well and cook on low heat for about 20 minutes. Afterward, add the first extraction of coconut milk and cook for a few more minutes while stirring.

  • If desired, the curry can be tempered by frying curry leaves, pandan leaves, mustard seeds, and chili pieces in a small amount of coconut oil for about 5 minutes. Add the tempered mixture to the jackfruit curry and mix well. Serve hot and enjoy!
